Invented in Brooklyn in the early 1900s by Bernhard Poehland, the Model C shoulder pad has survived the test of time for a simple reason: it works. The kidney-shaped velour pad mounts on a leather strap that fastens to the violin's end button at one end and holds in place with a rubber band at the other, adding comfortable padding without clamps or hardware touching the instrument. Green velour pad, suits 3/4 to 4/4 violins and 13" to 14" violas.
